Adaptive Leadership Journey

This is a powerful four-part journey that takes your executives and leaders on a journey from the traditional command and control leadership style to a new Adaptive Leadership style, better suited for leading High Performing Agile teams.

Included within this journey are four sessions, which take place over two days per quarter, and a 360 assessment that gives your leaders visibility into how they perceive themselves as leaders, how they are perceived by others as leaders, and the difference between the two. Enterprise Business Agility Overview (2 hours)

Leaders are facing increased pressure from their business to accelerate the pace in meeting a competitive landscape of customer demands. They have a large backlog of enterprise initiatives (high demand) with little understanding of their capacity to deliver against it.

Many enterprises have adopted and scaled Agile methods within their Technology areas, however,  the ones seeing success in becoming more customer focused and aligning demand with capacity, have taken the Agile and Lean mindset to their entire Enterprise.

The challenge in scaling agile at the Enterprise level is many leaders fail to have an overall strategy for this transformation that combines the necessary Process, Culture, Org Structure and Technical processes that need to change. Agile is just one portion of the overall stack for truly achieving business agility and organizational health.

Through this 2 hour strategic session, we’ll dig deep into the six critical pillars of an Enterprise Business Agility transformation and help executives understand the elements needed for designing successful business agility transformations where Agile/Lean goes beyond IT.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the current state drivers for business agility, the vision for change and the measures of success.
  • Learn the top transformation risks and lessons learned from other companies.

Agile Engineering Best Practices

Many teams that adopt Agile will tend initially to focus on adopting the Scrum practices of Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Retrospective. The only problem is these practices will not help on the engineering side of the house. The goal of this course is to take a team (Developers, DBAs, Analysts, Testers, Developers, Architects) through a journey of Agile Engineering Practices founded from methods such as XP, FDD  and pure common sense architectural patterns we’ve always known. We will discuss in detail some of the XP practices below, in addition to topics such as User Centric Design, Agile Architecture, Agile Database Design, Daily Builds and Code Check-ins, using Mock Data, and some on Automated Testing. Teams will walk away with new Team Engineering Norms they will apply to their projects.
